Should your business avail for merchant account?

Posted on July 21, 2015 by admin

“How will you pay for this, Cash or Credit?”

You won’t hear this coming from a food vendor, but with an establishment that runs by different companies like restaurants and shopping malls. And you seldom hear this from newly build business establishment.

With the word Credit, you’ll know that it refer Credit cards, but have you notice that there are only two credit cards Company that banks suggest you get VISA or MasterCard.

Why do we need to avail for Merchant account for our business?

Well, it’s simple; So that your business can accept debit and credit card. In today’s modern age, we are surrounded by people who use cards as a mean of money. This is their way to protect their finances. No one is dumb enough to hold grand of money in their pocket. And even though it’s snatched by thieves they can just deactivate the card by calling the bank.

So let’s discuss what merchant account providers can do for your business

  • A secure server with PCI compliance Certification
  • An Order form on a secure server
  • A Payment gateway

With this three, you can be secured but with the compliance, you need to talk to the vendor on how they will achieve this.

Even though you’re just starting out, or your business is already in the map, you can’t say for sure if you can still be secured. Once things go sour, you can’t feel but to avoid the circumstances.

Of course, Merchant services doesn’t come cheap, you need to follow the same procedure as the rest of the people who avail for this.

  • Application Fee
  • Per Transaction Fees
  • Monthly minimums
  • Discount rate
  • Charge backs

So should you avail for a merchant account? All I could say is that, once you’ve avail, you can accept credit cards because that’s how big businesses start by accepting what can be renewed to make the business grow.
